About

Les Canebiers, genuine creation house of Saint-Tropez, drawing all the quality and research of its collections in the history of the village.

We are in the fifties, Saint-Tropez is rediscovered by the greatest names of cinema and painting: Françoise Sagan, Jacques Prévert or Pablo Picasso, they travel from Paris for the summer holidays to the small fishing village, seduced intellectuals eager for sun, relaxation, and in search of the Mediterranean authenticity. One can see Juliette Gréco, Boris Vian or the writer Colette, great lover of Saint-Tropez who settles down in the bay of Canebiers. In summer, the cafés of Saint-Germain des Près in Paris are deserted so the followers of the existentialism of Jean-Paul Sartre prefer Saint-Tropez. The small streets that descend to the port are garnished with fashion shops. The road to the beached still borders, as fifty years ago, fields of olive trees, Florentine pines and vineyards. The painter Signac would see no changes…

Saint-Tropez remains associated with the one who became a myth at about the same time than the small village: Brigitte Bardot.

The Madrague then became the stronghold of the jet-set of the time, some of the biggest names of cinema and music were there side by side: Delon, Belmondo, Sacha Distel, Gunter Sachs. Saint-Tropez is a small fishing port in the South of France that became famous in the 1950s thanks to numerous artists, writers and hedonists who loved its shady squares, its small streets and the beautiful beach of blond sand of Pampelonne.

One moves in 2cv or moors in yacht in front of the beach of Pampelonne to lunch at Club 55, having fresh sardines accompanied with rosé of the boss. Riches and less riches are all found on the private beaches of Pampelonne, with the most beautiful girls in the world. Les Canebiers, house of creation from Saint-Tropez, where the authenticity of Saint-Tropez is reborn at the heart of the village.

Luxury at the beach.
